Get Ready To Kick Off 2023 With Healthy Feet
Happy New Year! As we wave goodbye to 2022 and look forward to a brighter 2023, now is the perfect time to reassess our foot care routine and make some resolutions for healthier feet.
Though it’s easy to overlook, foot health is incredibly important. Our feet are the foundation of our bodies and keep us moving all day long. Without proper care and attention, our feet can become prone to injury, discomfort and even chronic conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis or shin splints.
As such, here are some great ways to keep your feet healthy this year:
Start Exercising:
Regular exercise helps strengthen the muscles in your feet, improving balance and posture while reducing your risk of injury. Going on daily walks or jogs is a great way to get started; just be sure to wear supportive shoes that fit well while you do so.
Stretch Your Feet Regularly:
Stretching helps improve blood circulation in your feet by loosening up tense muscles and joints. Make sure to target key areas such as the ankles, toes, calf muscles and Achilles tendon with stretches—you can use a foam roller for added pressure if needed!
Soak & Scrub Your Feet Daily
Soaking your feet regularly not only feels great but also helps maintain healthy skin by removing bacteria from pores. After soaking, use an exfoliating scrub or pumice stone to help remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin; this will give you soft, smooth-looking feet!
Wear Appropriate Footwear
Wearing ill-fitting shoes can lead to serious medical issues over time—it’s best to invest in quality footwear that gives you enough support while still allowing your toes room to wiggle around comfortably. Also, make sure you switch out your shoes every few months—worn-out soles won’t provide adequate arch support or cushioning anymore!
See A Podiatrist
If you’re having any issues related to foot care (such as bunions or corns), it is always a good idea to see a podiatrist for professional advice; they’ll be able to help diagnose any underlying problems so they can be treated properly before they become worse!
By following these steps throughout 2023, you should have no problem keeping your feet happy (and healthy) all year round! If you need help acting for your feet contact Premier foot and ankle to schedule with our Podiatrist.
